Gorelina leads team offensive effort with 12 kills
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse volleyball team beat the Siena Saints in four sets (25-23, 25-16, 14-25, 31-29) on Saturday morning at the Women's Building.
"Whether you win or not, you have to fight back," said head coach Leonid Yelin of his team's performance Saturday. "Usually it is not skills, this is a mental error."
The Orange (1-5, 0-0 ACC) came out the first two sets winning and then rallied to win the fourth set for the victory. Sophomore Anastasiya Gorelina posted 12 kills and junior Amber Witherspoon had 10 total blocks.
The Orange look forward to Penn State (4-3, 0-0 Big Ten) Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the Women's Building.
