Orange star is third nationally in receiving yards per game
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Orange redshirt senior wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo was one of two receivers added to the 2016 Biletnikoff Award Watch List by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The award is named after legendary Florida State and Oakland Raiders star Fred Biletnikoff and is presented to the nation's most outstanding receiver, regardless of position.
Â
Cal's Chad Hansen was also selected for addition to the watch list, which was first released on July 13.
Â
Etta-Tawo leads the ACC and ranks third nationally in receiving yards per game (145.3). His 9.3 receptions per game are tied for fourth in the FBS. The Maryland graduate transfer has 28 catches for 436 yards and three touchdowns so far this year. His 436 receiving yards are the most ever for a Syracuse player in the season's first three games.
Â
Against Colgate in the season opener, Etta-Tawo totaled 12 catches for 210 yards, the third-highest, single-game receiving yardage total in the country so far this season.
Â
Additions to the Biletnikoff Watch List are announced periodically during the season based on performance. The 10 semifinalists for the award will be determined on Nov. 14 and the three finalists will be named on Nov. 22. The winner will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 8.
