Orange Set for Panorama Farms Invite

The Syracuse men's and women's cross country teams will get their biggest meet of the 2016 season to date underway on Friday at the Panorama Farms Invitational, hosted by Virginia.
LAST TIME OUT:
-Â The Syracuse men swept the scoring for the second week in a row on their way to a win at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational.
- The Syracuse women put up a strong follow-up performance to their season-opening win, with a third place finish.
- Iliass Aouani led the team in his Syracuse debut, as he won the men's individual title, while six other runners also placed in the top-14.
- Madeleine Davison led the women's team yet again, as she finished third overall.
LAST TIME AT PANORAMA FARMS
-Â The last time the Orange raced on the Panorama Farms course, the Syracuse men claimed the 2014 ACC Championship and the women finished eighth at the meet.
-Â Orange alum Martin Hehir won the men's individual title and set a new course record, which still stands today, the third conference title in a row for the program which has now claimed three-straight.
- Of the current 'Cuse men, Justyn Knight (8th), Joel Hubbard (9th) and Colin Bennie (13th) all earned All-ACC honors for their performance,
- Orange alum Margo Malone led the women's team to an eighth-place finish, as she put up a strong performance to finish third overall.
-Â Sydney Leiher is the only current woman to have raced on the course before, taking 79th at the conference meet in 2014.
BIG DEBUTS COMING
-Â 2015 All-American Philo Germano raced at last week's Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational to start his season, but the Orange's top two runners from last season are expected to race for the first time this weekend.
-Â Phenoms Justyn Knight and Colin Bennie, who both finished inside the top-10 at last year's NCAA Championship, will both take to the Panorama Farms course to kick start their 2016 campaigns on Friday.
RANKING THE ORANGE
-Â The Syracuse men were the unanimous No. 1 in this week's USTFCCCA Poll, the second-straight week Syracuse has been a unanimous top team.
- The women held ground at No. 16 in the polls for the second straight week after opening the year at No. 15 in the preseason poll.
The women's race is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the men following at 10:30.
