Knight Wins Panorama Farms Invitational

Men finish second, women take third
In his 2016 debut, junior Justyn Knight raced to a dominant individual victory at the Panorama Farms Invitational, defeating second place finisher Lawrence Kipkoech from Campbell by nearly 16 seconds to win the individual race, while the team took second.
The women's team raced to a third place finish at the meet, behind another top-10 finish from standout freshman Madeleine Davison.

Knight led five Orange runners in the top-20 after racing to a time of 23:13.8, including three top-seven performances. Colin Bennie, who also made his 2016 debut, finished sixth in 23:57.5 and was followed closely by Philo Germano in seventh (23:59.3). Iliass Aouani was the fourth member of the Orange across the line in 24:13.7 and Kevin James took 18th in 24:29.0. TJ Hornberger (24:42.5) and Griff Molino (24:56.4) finished 25th and 28th respectively to round out the Orange top-seven.
Knight's time is a new Panorama Farms course record, which was previously held by Martin Hehir (23:15.2), that he set during his ACC Championship race in 2014.
No. 12 BYU took the team crown, finishing with 39 points, five ahead of the No. 1 Orange. No. 11 Virginia finished third with 82 points as Campbell (125) and No. 4 Stanford (139) rounded out the top-five.
Davison crossed the line in 17:23.9 for the women to take eighth overall. She was followed by Paige Stoner (12th/17:32.4), Emma Wilson (23rd/17:53.0), McKenzie Altmayer (27th/17:58.6) and Mary Malone (28th/18:00.7), rounding out the 'Cuse scoring. Alex Cooper (18:02.2) and Sydney Leiher (18:26.7) finished 29th and 43rd, respectively to round out the top-seven.
No. 19 BYU also claimed the women's title in 47 points, with SMU (89 points) finishing in second. No. 16 'Cuse had 98 points ahead of No. 14 Virginia (183) and William and Mary (155).
Next, both teams will head to the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour on Oct. 14.
