Orange, No. 7 Clemson Renew Rivalry Saturday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse closes out the home portion of its regular-season schedule against No. 7/7 Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Admission and parking are free.

Fans are encouraged to get to their seats early for a pregame ceremony honoring Syracuse senior class. In addition, the first 500 fans through the gates will receive a thunder stick. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and live stats will be available on Cuse.com.

The Orange are coming off a 2-1 victory at Ohio State on Wednesday, which improved their record to 6-7-2. Clemson is ranked No. 7 in this week's polls and enters Saturday's game with a 10-3-0 mark. Syracuse is looking for its first ACC win of the season, while the Tigers are 3-3-0 in league play.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Diego Campos is Clemson's leading scorer with seven goals and eight assists for 22 points. He is tied for second in scoring in the ACC. Ximo Miralles is Clemson's starting goalkeeper. He has a 0.88 goals-against average and a .744 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Clemson will meet for the eighth time on Saturday. The Orange own a 3-1-3 advantage in the series.

The Orange and Tigers have played some epic games during the past three years. Last season the squads met twice, both on Clemson's home pitch. During the regular season, the squads played to a 0-0 draw.

The second meeting came in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals. Campos gave the Tigers the lead in the 67th minute, but the Orange answered on Sergio Camargo's penalty kick as the score was tied at 1-1 after two overtime periods. Clemson won the penalty kick shootout, 4-2, to advance to the ACC Tournament semifinals.

Syracuse and Clemson played three times in 2015. The Tigers won the regular-season meeting, 1-0, while the Orange posted a 2-1 win in the ACC Tournament semifinals. The final meeting came in the national semifinals in Kansas City. The teams played a 0-0 draw, but Clemson won the penalty kick shootout to advance to the title game.
