
Ebangwese, Sand Named to All-ACC Academic Team

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Santita Ebangwese and Belle Sand of the Syracuse Volleyball team have been named to the All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team, announced Thursday by the league office.
The accolade marks the second straight for Ebangwese. The sophomore is a bio engineering major in the School of Engineering and is enrolled in the Honors Program.
A native of Rochester, N.Y., Ebangwese earned Dean's List recognition in the spring of 2016. She is an active representative of Syracuse University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and also participates in tutoring at the Northside Children's Center through the Young Scholars Program.
The honor is the first for Sand, as she is an economics major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The junior and Mabel, Minnesota native finished the 2016 season competing 106 sets, totaling 69 assists, 18 service aces and 416 digs at the Libero position.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
