Syracuse will take on Iowa State on Saturday
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the fifth consecutive season, the Syracuse women's basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse, the eighth seed in the Bridgeport Region, will play ninth seed Iowa State on Saturday at the Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn. Tipoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
The winner of Saturday's opening-round contest will take on the winner of overall No. 1 seed Connecticut and No. 16 seed Albany on Monday.
Season ticket holders can order tickets by clicking here to log into your MyCuse account or calling the Carrier Dome box office at 888-DOME-TIX (option "zero") beginning at 8:30 am on Tuesday.
The Orange are making their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Quentin Hillsman, ninth in program history. Syracuse is one of 14 teams nationally that has advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament each of the past three seasons.
For the eighth straight year, the Orange have notched 20 victories, recording 21 victories on the 2016-17 campaign. In addition, the club has recorded double-digit wins in conference play for the fifth straight season.
Syracuse is led by America's top-scoring backcourt, senior guard Alexis Peterson and redshirt senior guard Brittney Sykes. Peterson was named the program's fourth All-American on March 10, while Sykes collected Blue Ribbon Panel and Coaches' All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team honors.
