
Syracuse-Kansas To Meet in 2017 Hoophall Miami Invitational

Doubleheader includes Miami-Princeton
MIAMI, FL – Perennial men's basketball powers Syracuse and Kansas will meet in the third annual Hoophall Miami Invitational on December 2, 2017, according to The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The matchup is part of a doubleheader which also includes Miami vs. Princeton at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
"We are excited to participate in the 2017 Hoophall Miami Invitational," said Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim. "The opportunity to play a quality program like Kansas in Miami will be as strong a test as we could hope for our team."
The game between Syracuse and Kansas will be the culmination of a multi-team event in which both teams will each host Oakland University, University of Toledo and Texas Southern University on their campuses. The game between Miami and Princeton will be considered a single game in their respective schedules.
Syracuse and Kansas have met five times previously and the Orange have won three of the pairings. The most recent encounter came in the championship game of the 2008 CBE Classic. Syracuse defeated the Jayhawks, 89-81 in overtime, to capture the event. The two teams also squared off in the 2003 NCAA Championship game, won by the Orange, 81-78.
Syracuse has a 2-0 series record with Oakland,Texas Southern, and Toledo.

ESPN has partnered to televise the doubleheader, with game times and tune-in information to be released at later date.
Leading up to the Hoophall Miami Invitational, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will host several community events and social functions including a High School Basketball Showcase at AmericanAirlines Arena.
