Colin Bennie and Adam Palamar were honored for their success in the classroom and on the track by CoSIDA, who named the 'Cuse duo as Academic All-District honorees.
Bennie, who qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the third time last weekend in the 10k, also had his second-straight USTFCCCA All-American worthy performance at the NCAA Cross Country Championship this fall. The NCAA Championship is June 7-10 in Eugene, Oregon.
The junior began his cross country campaign with a sixth-place finish at the Panorama Farms Invitational before taking 14th at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour – one of the nation's largest meets.
Â
He then took fifth at the ACC Championships, earning him All-ACC honors for the third-straight season and also took second at the NCAA Northeast Regional behind teammate Justyn Knight for the second year in a row before finishing 17th at the NCAA Championship.
Bennie then took 10th at the ACC Indoor Championship in the 5k and took sixth at the ACC Championship in the outdoor season in the 10k.
Bennie is a graduate student in the classroom, despite being a junior athletically, majoring in public administration.
Palamar fought through injury at the NCAA East Preliminary, finishing 45th in the 1500-meters. He previously took fourth at the ACC Championship in the 1500 and set a season-best mark of 3:42.70 at the Stanford Invitational.
Palamar is majoring in biology and was one of the ACC's Postgraduate Scholarship recipients this spring.
