Buffalo Back In Dome On Dec. 19

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Buffalo is scheduled to return to the Dome for the first time since 2001 in a December 19 matchup against Syracuse.
Syracuse has a 27-5 advantage in the series with Buffalo and the Orange have captured the most recent 17 matchups. The two teams last met on December 30, 2001 and Syracuse prevailed, 83-62. Buffalo's most recent triumph in the pairing was a 63-61 decision on January 15, 1963.
Nate Oats enters his third season as head coach at Buffalo. He was promoted from assistant to head coach in 2015 when Bobby Hurley was hired at Arizona State. Oats guided the Bulls to a 20-15 overall mark and the Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship, which gave Buffalo an NCAA Tournament berth. Buffalo was 17-15 last season, giving Oats a 37-30 record at the helm.
Junior guard CJ Massinburg (14.4 ppg., 5.6 rpg.) and junior forward Nick Perkins (12.4 ppg., 6.7 rpg.) are the two top returning players for Buffalo.
Syracuse was 19-15 and reached the second round of the NIT last season.
Coach Jim Boeheim, who ranks second in career wins among Division I mentors, enters his 42nd season as SU head coach.
