SU To Host Terps In 2017 Big Ten/ACC Challenge Nov. 27

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse will host Maryland in the 19th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Monday, November 27, in the Carrier Dome, according to an announcement by ESPN.
The Terrapins were 24-9 overall and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Xavier. Coach Mark Turgeon has led Maryland to a 138-67 record and three straight NCAA Tournament berths in his six seasons at the helm.
Maryland had a 5-3 edge in the all-time series with Syracuse. The two teams last met in the 2013-14 campaign, the Terps last as ACC members. The fourth-ranked Orange won a road encounter at Maryland, 57-55.
Syracuse was 19-15 and reached the second round of the NIT last season.
Coach Jim Boeheim enters his 42nd season as Syracuse head coach.
Other top pairings in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge include Michigan at defending NCAA Champion North Carolina, Duke at Indiana, Louisville at Purdue, Miami at Minnesota, and Notre Dame at Michgan State. The ACC was 9-5 in last year's event.
