SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Miranda Kramer has been hired as an assistant coach on the Syracuse softball staff, according to head coach, Mike Bosch. Kramer joins the full-time staff after serving as a volunteer assistant for the 2017 season.
Kramer helped 'Cuse record its sixth 30-win season in 2017. The program's 31-19 campaign was the best mark recorded since 2012.
"We are excited to add Miranda to our staff," Bosch said. "She is a well accomplished pitcher, knowledgeable of her skills, who understands how to communicate to the players. Her character and competitiveness will serve her well as she starts her new position with Syracuse University."
Kramer, a pitching specialist, coached freshman Alexa Romero to a spot on the All-ACC Freshman Team. Romero was the first player in program history to earn the rookie accolade. The lefty recorded an ERA of 2.79 with 155 strikeouts over 145.1 innings.
"I am very excited to be a part of the Syracuse softball family once again," Kramer said. "I'm very blessed to be given this opportunity and look forward to working towards our goals."
The West Burlington, Iowa native and Western Kentucky graduate, Kramer was WKU's first-ever NFCA First-Team All-American honoree. At the conclusion of her senior season, Kramer led the nation in strikeouts, strikeouts per seven innings pitched and hits allowed per seven innings, while ranking second in shutouts.
