Veteran broadcast producer Scott Hecht will lead the new Syracuse University Athletics Production department, which will oversee the launch of and day-to-day operation of the ACC Network on campus. An industry insider, Hecht brings more than 20 years of experience in the broadcast production field to the University's new venture as the department's senior producer. Broadcast engineer Tom White will oversee the technical operations for all remote productions, including equipment and transmission.
"We are thrilled to have two veterans of the broadcast industry join our team," said Director of Athletics John Wildhack. "Scott's tremendous expertise in live event production gives us a proven leader to launch the athletics production department and the ACC Network on our campus. Equally important is the technology and engineering. Tom is an outstanding broadcast engineer who has a long history in the Syracuse market and nationally with his experience at Time Warner/Spectrum Sports and each of the major national networks.
"One of the advantages we have is the Newhouse School of Communications, with their control rooms and overall state-of-the-art facilities. Dean Lorraine Branham and her staff have been terrific partners. This project accentuates what a great school Newhouse is. It is among the best, if not the best, in the country. When we combine the talents of Scott and Tom with the Newhouse facilities, it gives us a very strong foundation."
