Orange Close Out Homestand Sunday Against Clemson

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's soccer team (5-3-1) faces its fourth ranked opponent this season as it takes on Clemson on Sunday at SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange are wrapping up a six-game home stand, the longest stretch of games at home in program history.

Last Time Out
Syracuse dropped its first conference game of the year in a 1-0 loss to No. 18 Wake Forest on Sept. 21. The sole goal of the game came in the 30th minute on a shot to the top left corner of the goal. Senior keeper Courtney Brosnan tied her season-high with nine saves in the contest. She surpassed the 275 career saves mark, currently sitting at 278 career saves, good for third in program history.

Woah, We're Halfway There
With the conclusion of the Wake Forest game, Syracuse is officially halfway through its 2017 campaign. At the halfway mark, 'Cuse has posted 14 goals, 110 shots, averaging 2.56 goals and 12.2 shots per game. Seven different Orange athletes have tabbed a goal thus far and 12 Syracuse players have a point this season.

Sunday Funday
The Orange hold a 2-1-0 record when playing on Sundays with the only loss coming at No. 8 Florida back in August. 'Cuse has won two consecutive Sunday afternoon contests at home, posting four goals in the two-game span.

Scouting the Tigers
Clemson is 6-3-0 on the season, recently coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to No. 8 North Carolina. Freshman Mariana Speckmaier paces the Tigers with five goals on the season. Despite ranking last in the ACC in shots (98), Clemson sits tied for eighth for goals with 16 on the year. The Orange have yet to defeat the Tigers since moving to ACC play in 2013.
