Knight Breaks Syracuse Mile Record

Justyn Knight broke his own school record and posted the first sub-3:56 mile in school history, crossing the line at the John Thomas Invitational in 3:55.82.
Knight was the top collegiate runner in at the meet, finishing second overall to 2016 Olympian Shadrack Kipchirchir by 0.30 seconds. Knight bested his own school record by over a full second (3:56.87) from a year ago.
Later in the event, Noah Affolder (4:02.46), Aidan Tooker (4:02.85) and Philo Germano (4:03.43) took the top-three spots in section three of the mile. Overall, Affolder and Tooker finished ninth and 10th, combining the sections, while Germano took 12th. Nathan Henderson (4:12.50) and Andy Paladino (4:15.87), also raced in the event.
In the 3000-meters, Iliass Aouani took ninth in the 3000-meters, crossing the line in 7:59.88. Colin Bennie was right behind in 7:59.91, which was good for 10th.
Kevin James closed out the day with a win in the 5k, crossing the line in 14:17.22. Dominic Hockenbury (14:34.83), Joe Dragon (14:49.28) and Simon Smith (14:52.04) also raced in the event, taking 10th, 19th, and 22nd, respectively.
