Track Closes Indoor Regular Season at Cornell

CORNELL MARC DENEAULT INVITATIONAL PREVIEW
The Syracuse Track and Field Teams will travel to Cornell University to compete in the Cornell Marc Deneault Invitational this weekend.

Last Time Out
-'Cuse heads into the weekend riding a strong performance at the BU Valentine Invite and Iowa State Classic last weekend.
-Paige Stoner and Justyn Knight set two major records during this meet; Stoner passed Syracuse's 5Krecord by 16 secibds, while Knight recorded the fastest 5K time in the nation at Iowa State.
-Kadejia Sellers was victorious in Boston's 400-meter dash, with a time of 53.24 seconds. She crossed the line a full .24 faster than the second place finisher did.
-Dasia Pressley finished third in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line with a time of 23.88 seconds.
-The Orange took second place in the 4x400-meter relay. Danielle Delgado, Alexis Harper, Tia Thevenin, and Kadejia Sellers combined to finish with a time of 3:43.97.

Ranking the Orange
-Syracuse climbed seven places and now checks in at No. 12 in the USTFCCCA Men's Poll this week.
-This is the 21st straight poll that the Orange have been ranked in the top 25 by the USTFCCCA.

MEET PREVIEW
- Action in the jumps gets underway at 11 a.m., as Pascal Bastein and Randall Johnson compete in the men's long jump and Aviana Goode competes in the women's long jump. Johnson and Goode will also compete in the high jump.
- Declan Kottmeier and Matt Cavallaro are set to compete in the 3k at 10:45, which will kick things off on the track. Kelsey Potts and Olivia Elston will also race in this event for the women.
- A host of Orange will then compete in the 60-meter hurdles. Tia Thevenin will represent the Orange women, before Angelo Goss, Matt Moore, Richard Floyd, David Gilstrap, Kelvin Almonte, Chevis Armstead, Jamil Adams and Andrew Aguilera race for the men. 'Cuse put seven men in the finals of this event last time they competed on this track.
- Next, Eunice Boateng, Justice Richardson, Imani Clark and Victoria Parker will race in the 60-meter dash. Kashif Miller, Chuka Soronnadi and Chris Tucker will compete for the men.
- Kayli Jones and Ryley Higgins will then race in the mile, with Dominic Hockenbury, Jared Lautenslager, Simon Smith and Andy Paladino racing for the men.
- Adams, Aguilera, Armstead and Jalen Racine will then compete in the 300-meters.
- Hannah Loder and Kerry Reilly will compete for the women in the 800, followed by Sam Somera, Kwaku Agyemang and Cameron Bailey.
- Aidan Tooker, Nathan Henderson, Bastein and Noah Affolder will close the day out in the men's DMR.Â

-The Orange's top finishers for this meet consisted of mostly seniors, with their absences, younger runners look to step up and podium. Of the remaining team, Justice Richardson won the Women's 60-meter dash, with a time of 7.68. The women's team additionally won the women's DMR, with a finishing time of 11:57.33 and participation from Sydney Leiher, Rachel Bonner, Madeleine Davison, and Ebhani Blackwood.
-Also last season, Simon Smith took third in the mile, with a time of 4:18.75 last season. Chevis Armstead II placed 3rd in the Men's 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.27. 'Cuse also placed first in the men's DMR, with a time of 9:58.31 and participation from Joel Hubbard, Paul Lovell, Aidan Tooker, and Adam Palamar.
