HOUSTON, Texas – Syracuse faces four different opponents at the Houston Hilton Plaza Invitational from Friday, Feb. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 25.

'Cuse opens up with UNLV and Yale on Friday at 10:30 a.m. (CT) and 1 p.m. (CT), respectively. On Saturday, the Orange play against UTSA at 11:30 a.m. (CT) and Houston at 4:30 p.m. (PT). Syracuse concludes play on Sunday with a second game against Yale at 9 a.m. (CT).

The game against Houston will be streamed live on www.uhcougars.com. Live stats will be available for all games and the links can be found on cuse.com.

For Starters
- 'Cuse posted a 3-2 record at the Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. Last weekend. The Orange defeated Sacramento State (8-0, 5 inn.), Grand Canyon (9-8, 10 inn.) and Cal Poly (4-2). Syracuse lost 6-0 to both Utah and UCLA.

- Sophomore pitcher Alexa Romero threw Syracuse softball's second perfect game in the victory over Sacramento State. She retired all 15 batters she faced with nine strikeouts. Romero's performance earned her ACC Co-Pitcher of the week honors.

- Junior Bryce Holmgren batted 7-for-15 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs at the Mary Nutter Classic. Holmgren leads the Orange with a .500 batting average, three doubles and six RBI on the season.

- Syracuse has the opportunity to earn its 500th win in program history this weekend. The Orange hold a 496-434-1 all-time record, leaving them just four wins shy of the 500-victory milestone.

The Opponents
- UNLV enters the weekend with an 8-3 overall record. The Runnin' Rebels posted a 4-2 record at the Marucci Desert Classic last weekend. The game marks the fourth meeting all-time between the two programs and the first since 2016. UNLV won each of the previous three contests, including a 6-1 decision in the most recent encounter.

- The Orange meet Yale for the first time in program history. The Bulldogs have not played a game yet this season and finished the 2017 slate with a 17-28 overall record and a 10-10 mark in the Ivy League.

- UTSA enters the weekend with a 6-2 overall record and a three-game winning streak. The Orange hold a 2-0 record in the series, winning 4-3 and 3-1 in a pair of games in 2011

- Syracuse and Houston clash for the first time in program history. The Cougars are 4-4 on the year and have faced four nationally-ranked opponents. Last weekend, at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, the Cougars went 1-3 with their lone win coming against then No. 15/18 Ole Miss.

On the Orange Horizon
The Orange head to Fairfax, Va. to play in the Patriot Classic from Friday, Mar. 2 through Sunday, Mar. 4.
