CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Â Sophomore Tyus Battle led Syracuse (18-12, 7-10 ACC) with 29 points in an 85-70 loss to Boston College (17-13, 7-10 ACC) Wednesday night at Conte Forum.
Freshman Oshae Brissett finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Junior Frank Howard scored 17 points and dished out five assists.
Ky Bowman led the Eagles with 23 points and five assists. Jerome Robinson added 22 points with seven assists and Jordan Chatman totaled 18 points.
How it was Decided
Battle scored six straight points to trim the Syracuse deficit to seven with 10:02 remaining. Boston College used an 11-3 run to take a 69-54 lead and the Orange were unable to cut the deficit back down to single digits.
Game Summary
Boston College scored 10-consecutive points to take a 10-3 lead and back-to-back threes from Battle shortly after pulled Syracuse back within three. The Eagles countered back with a 12-2 run and took a 27-14 lead with 8:45 remaining in the first half.
Brissett scored six points and Battle added five to fuel an 11-0 Orange run that cut their deficit back down to one. Boston College extended its lead back to five, but two free throws from Battle sent Syracuse into the locker room down 40-37.
The Eagles extended their lead back to 13 with 11:55 remaining. Battle made a trey and converted a 3-point play to trim the Orange deficit back down to seven.

Boston College finished the game 26-of-54 (48.1 percent) from the floor and 14-of-27 (51.9 percent) from beyond the arc. Syracuse shot 19-of-50 (38.0 percent) from the floor, 10-of-24 (41.7 percent) from 3-point range and 22-25 (88.0 percent) from the free throw line.
Battle shot 7-of-18 from the field, 5-of-10 from beyond the arc and 10-for-11 from the charity stripe. Junior Paschal Chukwu grabbed nine rebounds for Syracuse.
The 14 3-pointers for Boston College are the most the Orange have allowed since Colgate knocked down 14-of-35 attempts in the Carrier Dome on Dec. 9.
