FAIRFAX, Va. – Syracuse (7-5) plays in its final non-conference tournament of the regular season when it travels to the Patriot Classic, hosted by George Mason, on Friday, Mar. 2.

The Orange face George Mason on Friday at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, 'Cuse plays Army West Point and Monmouth at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively. Syracuse concludes play at the tournament on Sunday with games against Army West Point at 9 a.m. and George Mason at 11:15 a.m.

For Starters
- The Orange went 2-2 at the Houston Hilton Plaza Invitational last weekend. 'Cuse defeated Yale (8-2) and UTSA (8-0, 6 inn.) and lost to UNLV (3-0) and Houston (2-1, 8 inn.). Syracuse was scheduled to play Yale again on Sunday but the game was rained out.

- Junior Bryce Holmgren is batting .486 this season with five doubles, 11 RBI, a walk and six runs. Holmgren drove in a game-high four runs in the victory over Yale Friday.

- Sophomore pitcher Alexa Romero is 5-2 on the season with a 1.34 ERA and 59 strikeouts. She pitched a complete game shutout and tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts in the triumph over UTSA Saturday.

- Freshman Gabby Teran is coming off of the best week of her collegiate career. In five games, Teran went 8-for-16 with a homerun, two triples, a double, six RBI, four runs and two stolen bases. The homerun for Teran was the first of her career and the first for the Orange in 2018. She is batting .294 on the season with six RBI.

- Syracuse enters the weekend just two victories away from the 500-win milestone. The program has a 498-436-1 all-time record.

The Opponents
- George Mason is 4-5 this year. The Patriots have wins over Eastern Michigan, Abilene Christian, Hartford and St. Bonaventure. Jess Curbeira is hitting .538 with eight doubles, a triple, a homerun, seven RBI and seven runs.

- Army has a 2-8 record in 2018, with wins over Connecticut and Sacramento State. Three different Black Nights are batting over .300 on the year. Kristen McPeek (.346), Madison Cole (.333) and Emily Ballesteros (.308) are all hitting over .300 this season.

- Monmouth enters the weekend with a 3-2 record. The Hawks defeated Georgia Southern, Eastern Michigan and George Mason at the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational. Katie Baron leads Monmouth with a .588 batting average, three homers, six RBI and five runs.
