Mike Mangano was named assistant athletic trainer at Syracuse on June 26, 2017 after serving the Orange as a graduate assistant athletic trainer the previous two years. Mangano’s primary responsibility is working with the Men's Basketball program.Â

Mangano’s role is to provide injury evaluation, rehabilitation and prevention for student-athletes, as well as providing daily reports to coaches and covering practices and games.
Â
As a graduate assistant at Syracuse, Mangano worked primarily with the football and men’s soccer teams and provided secondary coverage for the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams and the men’s basketball team.

Mangano was a seasonal athletic trainer for the NFL’s New York Jets from May 2014 to June of 2015 after serving as an athletic training student intern for the Jets in the summer of 2013.

As an undergraduate at SUNY Cortland, Mangano was a student athletic trainer for the football, track and field and women’s lacrosse programs, as well as Cayuga Medical Center.

Mangano is a 2014 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training and earned a Master of Science in exercise science from Syracuse University in 2017. He holds CES and PES certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
