Syracuse Hosts Cornell at Womens Building

Syracuse (15-8) won its last two matches, defeating Canisius and Niagara Oct. 11 on the road. The Orangewomen set a single-match school record with 14 aces at Niagara.
Senior rightside hitter Dana Fiume (Island Park, NY) leads the Orange in seven categories. On offense, Fiume recorded 380 kills on 878 attacks for a .297 hitting percentage. She averages 4.58 kills per game. Defensively, Fiume has 18 solo blocks, 84 total blocks and a 1.01 blocks per game mark. Junior setter Noreen Carroll (LaGrange, IL) leads the Orangewomen with 681 assists this season, averaging a team-high 9.87 per game. Freshman Michaela Skelly (Simi Valley, CA) has 304 assists for second place on the squad. Senior outside hitter Julianna Stokes (Naperville, IL) leads defenders with 191 digs and 2.30 per game. Stokes also leads the serving corps with 44 aces.
Cornell is 11-5 overall this season amid a three-match winning streak. The Big Red have three players hitting more than three kills per game, led by Debbie Quibell at 4.08 kills per game. Jennifer Borncamp averages 3.44 per game, while Robin Moore is third on the team with a 3.31 mark. Ashely Stover and Moore lead the front-row defenders with 0.98 and 0.89 blocks per game, respectively. Borncamp averages a team-high 3.16 digs per game, while Rachel Rice directs the offense averaging 11.66 assists per game.
