Seniors Lead Orangewomen To 2-1 Win Over Pitt

In the final home game of their careers, seniors Jen Mena (North Grafton, MA), Erin O'Grady (Glastonbury, CT) and Cindy Wolf (Fallston, MD) led the Orangewomen soccer team to a 2-1 victory against the University of Pittsburgh at the Soccer Stadium at Lampe Athletics Complex on Oct. 20.

Mena opened the scoring for Syracuse as she posted a goal off a pass from O'Grady in the 37th minute to take the 1-0 lead. Just under ten minutes later, Wolf recorded her second goal of the week as she scored on a free kick to put the Orangewomen up 2-0.

Pittsburgh's Jacqueline Fix scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute, but the Panthers were unable to score again in regulation. With the win, the Orangewomen improve to 12-6-0 on the season while Pittsburgh moves to 5-12-1.

The Orangewomen will return to action on Oct. 24 when they travel to Colgate University for their final regular season match-up.
