Orangewomen to Face Connecticut in BIG EAST Semifinal

The Orangewomen posted a 3-1 quarterfinal victory over Rutgers University, the #2 Mid-Atlantic seed, on Saturday, October 28 to qualify for the Semifinal game. Syracuse has tallied an overall record of 14-6-0 on the 2000 season and a 3-2 mark in BIG EAST Northeast Division play.

The Huskies advance to Friday's match after a 1-0 overtime victory against West Virginia University on Sunday, October 29. Connecticut enters the game with a 14-5-2 overall record and a 5-0 mark in BIG EAST Northeast Division play.

The winner of Friday's game will advance to the BIG EAST Championship game to be held Sunday, November 5 at Alumni Field. The game, scheduled to begin at noon, will be televised live by the Madison Square Garden Network, Fox Sports New England, Fox Sports Net Chicago, Fox Sports Net Florida, Empire Sports and Comcast Sports Philadelphia. The following networks will carry the game on a tape-delay basis: Fox Sports Pittsburgh (Sun, Nov. 5, 2 p.m.) and Home Team Sports (Mon., Nov. 6, 2 p.m.).
