
Syracuse Defeated by Connecticut , 3-0, in BIG EAST Semi-final

The Syracuse University women's soccer team was defeated, 3-0, by the
University of Connecticut in the BIG EAST semifinal game at Alumni Field on
campus at the University of Notre Dame this evening. With the defeat, the
Orangewomen are eliminated from the BIG EAST Championship series.
Connecticut will face the winner of the Boston College, Notre Dame contest
in the BIG EAST Championship Game on Sunday at noon.
The Orangewomen were able to hold off the Huskies' attack well into the first half before Connecticut's Alexa Borisjuk scored the first of three goals in the 39th minute. The Huskies scored another goal in the 42nd minute and their final goal of the game at the 69:50 mark to finish with a 3-0 victory.
Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Karlander (Carmel, IN) had six saves for the Orangewomen who were outshot 19-6.
