Orangewomen Soccer Defeats Massachusetts, 1-0

Freshman Erica Mastrogiacomo (Weymouth, MA) scored an unassisted goal with seven minutes remaining in the first half of play to lead the Syracuse womens soccer team to a 1-0 victory against the University of Massachusetts in Albany this afternoon.
The 1-0 victory is the second consecutive victory and shutout of the season for goalkeeper Katie Karlander (Carmel, IN). It is also the second time that Karlander has recorded consecutive shutouts in her three year career.
With the win, the Orangewomen improve to 2-2 on the season, while the Minutewomen move to 2-1. Syracuse will return to action on Friday, when they host the University of Buffalo in the Orange Classic Tournament at Syracuse University. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
