Orangewomen Close Out Regular Season With 79-74 Loss At Providence

The Orangewomen trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half, but scored the final six points of the half to tie the score at 41 at halftime. SU took its first lead of the game on Moore's basket at the 19:47 mark of the second half, and led 53-46 with 15:46 remaining. Providence (10-16, 4-12) scored the next four points and tied the score at 58. The lead changed five times during the next six minutes before the Friars took the lead for good on Kristin Quinn's three-pointer with 4:25 remaining.
Moore finished with nine rebounds, leading the Orangewomen to a 41-37 advantage on the boards. Quinn led a group of five Friars that scored in double figures with 23 points.
Syracuse finished ninth in the BIG EAST and will face eighth-seeded Georgetown in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Gampel Arena in Storrs, CT.
