
Orangewomen Defeat Colgate, 17-4

Syracuse outscored the Red Raiders 11-1 in the first half of play, including two consecutive unanswered goals by Stacey Brown (Scotia, NY). Colgate struck first in the second half, but the Orangewomen answered with six consecutive goals, before the Red Raiders posted two goals in the final minute-and-a-half to close the match-up at 17-4.
Freshman Danielle Lillis (West Islip, NY) scored her first collegiate goal with 3:50 to play. She also had an assist on a goal by Sami Stock (Wayne, PA) in the 51st minute. Sophomore Kim Wayne (Scarsdale, NY) became the all-time leader in single-game assists with seven. She also had one goal in the game.
Carla Gigon (Hingham, MA) had nine saves in net for the Orangewomen who outshot their opponent 30-15. Syracuse will return to action when the team travels to take on the Huskies of the University of Connecticut this Sunday, April 1. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
