Neveklovska Wins Two On Senior Day

The Orangewomen (7-8) earned the doubles point with wins in the first and third matches. Neveklovska and Borucka defeated BU's Christina Causway and Carrie Rose, 8-4, in the first match. Junior Katie Thompson (Wesley Chapel, FL) and freshman Zani Suttle (Roswell, GA) posted an 8-5 victory in their match against Alana Marcu and Ning Ham.
Syracuse and Boston were tied at three wins each, by virtue of SU wins at number one and four singles. Neveklovska defeated Causway at number one 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Shervin Saedinia (Woodland Hills, CA) dealt Elena deMendoza a 6-4, 6-1 defeat in the fourth singles match. With the score tied at three, the match would be decided by the No. 5 singles contest. Thompson lost the first set to Marcu, 4-6, but battled back to take the second set, 6-3. Both players traded points in the third set and at 5-4, Thompson's sideline volley was called out to give Marcu and the Terriers the win.
Neveklovska won her sixth consecutive match against Boston, marking her longest win streak of the season. With the pair of victories, she remains in fifth-place in SU history with 146 wins. Borucka moved into a 12th-place tie with former teammate Anna Khvalina (1996-2000) with 128 victories.
SU returns to action Sunday, April 15 with an 11 a.m. match at Brown University.
