During the past year Britton has been employed as the full-time Assistant Soccer Coach and Administrative Assistant at William Smith. Her responsibilities included the development and implementation of practice, strength and conditioning programs, recruiting, and administrative tasks. Previously, she has served as the Graduate Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Ithaca College, U-15 Assistant Soccer Coach for the NY West Olympic Development Program, and has coached at various camps and clinics, including the Syracuse University Soccer Camp in 2000.
In addition to Britton's coaching experience, she brings significant knowledge as a player. Britton spent three years as a competitor in the USL "W" League with the Rochester Ravens after playing four seasons at the University at Buffalo where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and health and human services. As well as being a four-year starter and two-year captain at Buffalo, Britton was voted the teams Most Valuable Player in her sophomore year and was selected as a member of the Academic All Mid-American Conference Soccer Squad in 1998.
Upon completion of her thesis in December Britton will have earned a master's degree in exercise and sport science with a concentration in sport psychology from Ithaca College.
The Orangewomen open the 2001 season on September 1 when they host New Mexico at the Soccer Stadium at the Lampe Athletics Complex.
