Holte & Schlosser Take Flight B Doubles

College Park, MD — The Orangewomen tennis doubles team of sophomore Jessica Schlosser (Nedrow, NY/ CBA) and freshman Kristine Holte (Oslo, Norway/ Fagerborg vgs.) won the Flight B doubles championship at the Maryland Invitational, hosted by the University of Maryland from September 28-30.
Schlosser and Holte defeated Maryland's Emily DeCamilla and Chloe Chavardes via a default / injury. DeCamilla could not compete because of a back injury.
Syracuse's tandem of Masha Kabanova (Moscow, Russia/ School #528) and Shervin Saedinia (Woodland Hills, CA/ Calabasas) took third place in the Flight A doubles competition. Kabanova and Saedinia defeated West Virginia's Courtney Howell and Anna Marie Underwood 8-2.
Kabanova and Saedinia squared-off against one another in ninth place in the Flight A singles bracket. Saedinia won 6-2, 6-3.
Daniela Kaluskova (Prague, Czech/ Gym Budejovicka) took third place in Flight A singles after American's Jacqueline Hagen did not finish the match.
Syracuse competitors combined to post a 10-4 record on the final day of the tournament.
The Orangewomen's next tournament is the ECAC Invitational in Princeton, NJ, Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14.
