14 Days To Tip-Off: Orangewomen Will Face Tough Schedule

The Syracuse University women’s basketball team will look to build on last year's NCAA Tournament appearance as its welcome one of the most challenging schedules in school history.

This year's schedule features two teams that reached the 2002 Elite Eight and 15 of 24 opponents ranked in the top 100, according to the WBCA/Summerville RPI Report. Additionally, BIG EAST rivals Connecticut, Boston College, Notre Dame and Villanova all received NCAA post-season tournament berths.

Syracuse will play at least 11 out of conference contests, highlighted by home dates with national powers Vanderbilt and Colorado. Both of those teams advanced to within one game of last year's Final Four.

The Orangewomen open the season at Loudonville, NY against Siena in the first round of the Preseason WNIT. It is SU's first-ever appearance in the 16-team event, which features 12 teams that made the 2002 post-season.
