Lapalme and DeRosa Earn All-BIG EAST Honors

VERNON, Conn. - Syracuse University women's soccer junior midfielder Anne-Marie Lapalme (Granby, Quebec/John Abbott Prep) and freshman midfielder Brooke DeRosa (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquout HS) have earned All-BIG EAST Honors for the 2002 season. Season conference awards were announced at the BIG EAST championship banquet on Thursday night, Nov. 7.
Lapalme was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, while DeRosa earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team. It is the sixth consecutive year Syracuse has had at least one player named to the All-Rookie Team.
A two-year starter at SU, Lapalme was third on the team in scoring with four goals and two assists for 10 points. DeRosa started all 15 games she played in and had one assist.
Voting for the all-league teams was conducted among the league?s 14 head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.
