Bramante, currently a senior at Union-Endicott High School, is one of the top young female players in the Southern Tier of New York. She has not lost a regular-season match for the Tigers since seventh grade. Last season, she won the Section IV Class A title, and finished third in the state championship. During her junior year, Bramante reached the quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA tennis tournament where she finished sixth overall and fifth among public high school players. That was the best finish for a Section IV player in over 10 years, and the best in the history of Union-Endicott girls tennis. Since age 12, she has been consistently ranked in the top 20 in the United States Tennis Association’s Eastern Region. Bramante is interested in becoming a lawyer or an FBI agent after she graduates from Syracuse.
Lipton, a senior at the Menlo School, garnered six wins over the summer at the National Clay Court Championship in Memphis. She also recorded a team-high six wins at the Junior Fed Cup competition. Lipton is currently ranked in the top 10 in the USTA NorCal Standings for 18-year-olds. Lipton was ranked No. 2 in the USTA NorCal Girls 14’s and No. 3 in the USTA NorCal Girls 16’s. She has also achieved a USTA national ranking of No. 26. Throughout her high school career, Lipton played No. 1 singles, and she led the Menlo School to three straight CCS and CIF-NorCal titles. During that period, the team had a NorCal record 92-match winning streak. She was selected as the top NorCal High School player by SchoolSports.com in 2000. Lipton was the first female sports editor for the Menlo School newspaper, and she plans to major in broadcast journalism at Syracuse.
