
SU Prepares to Face Canisius

Canisius hasn’t played since a 93-75 loss to Notre Dame on Dec. 22. Senior Brian Dux earned MAAC Player of the Week honors after scoring 18 points and dishing out 11 assists in a 71-65 win against Buffalo on Dec. 14. Dux ranks second on the team with an average of 14.4 points per game. Senior Hodari Mallory is averaging 17.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per outing.
The Orangemen are fresh off a 109-79 defeat of Albany Saturday night. Freshman Carmelo Anthony is averaging 25.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore Hakim Warrick is second with averages of 15.6 points and 9.0 boards per contest. Senior Kueth Duany and freshman Gerry McNamara are also averaging double figures in points - 14.3 and 13.9, respectively.
Monday’s game, the last of an eight-game homestand, is SU’s final non-conference event before travelling to BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall on Jan. 8. The Orangemen are 7-0 at the Carrier Dome through the early part of the season.
Fans can listen to the game in the Syracuse area on the SU Radio Network, 1260 AM. Voice of the Orange Mark Johnson will handle the play-by-play duties, while Matt Park will provide color commentary. The game will also be televised on tape delay on Time Warner Cable channel 13.
