
Orange Tennis Defeats Temple

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse University women's tennis team improved its record to 3-0 with a 5-2 victory against Temple at Drumlins Tennis Club on Sunday, Feb. 10. The Orangewomen won two of three doubles matches along with four of six singles matches against the Owls.
At No. 4 singles freshman Kristine Bech Holte (Oslo, Norway/Fagerborg vgs.) defeated Nina Kumar, 6-3, 7-5. Bech Holte is 6-0 in dual-match singles play. She has compiled a 21-8 overall record this season.
Sophomores Daniela Kaluskova (Prague, Czech/Gym Budjovicka), Marion Charlier (Rabat Morocco/Rabat American School) and Jessica Schlosser (Nedrow, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) all posted singles wins. Schlosser came from behind to defeat Rene Deyzel, 0-6, 7-5, 6-1.
The Orangewomen's next match is on the road against Boston College. The match is Friday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.
