BOSTON–The Syracuse University women's rowing team ran into rough weather on the Charles River Saturday, April 13. Only two races could be completed on a day that featured strong winds and tall waves. The Orangewomen's novice eight boat finished first in a time of 7:36.4, ahead of Northeastern, whose boat finished in 7:42.2.

Northeastern's 19th-ranked varsity eight crossed the finish line in a time of 8:02.4, ahead of SU's seventh-ranked boat, which finished in a time of 8:19.2. This is the second consecutive dual-race loss for the Orangewomen.

After the varsity eight race, officials elected to cancel the remainder of the races because of the poor weather conditions.

Syracuse gets back on the water Saturday, April 20 when it hosts Radcliffe and Dartmouth at Onondaga Lake.
