Jake's Take: Fans First Initiative
Fans First is an initiative by the Syracuse University Athletics Department intended to recognize and show appreciation to SU fans for their loyalty and to enhance the fan experience and overall atmosphere at all SU athletic events.
Syracuse University is dedicated to showing appreciation to the SU fans for their loyalty. It is developing a systematic platform to reach out to the community to receive feedback to aid in consideration of developing future initiatives. The challenge we face is seeking to find a balance between the cost of funding a major Division I-A athletics program and the affordability and entertainment value for the fans.
SU Director of Athletics Jake Crouthamel announced 2002 football season ticket information, including a new $99 Upper Endzone Season Ticket and the formation of the "O-Zone" Fan Section.
Adult season tickets for the 2002 season are $140 each. Youth season tickets are $50 per seat. Season ticket holders receive several benefits, including a VIP Season Ticket card for every ticket purchased. The card provides preferred customer discounts to 12 area businesses. Season ticket buyers also are guaranteed the same seat for all six games and will have priority opportunity to purchase individual home and away game tickets prior to the public sale, which begins July 24, 2002. Season ticket holders are also guaranteed the opportunity to renew seats next season with Notre Dame coming to the Dome.
A new option this season is the $99 Upper Endzone Season Ticket. All seats in the upper rows of the third level east endzone can be purchased as season tickets for only $99. Limited quantities are available.
Another new feature at 2002 home games will be the "O-Zone" Fan Section. First level east endzone adult season tickets ($140) are available for purchase by zealous SU fans who have an interest in displaying spirit, standing up, leading cheers, etc. Similar to other venues, this designated area is for the football zealots who want to go crazy, be close to the action and inspire the Orangemen.
"SUper Saver" Family Packs are available for the North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Rutgers games. The packages include two adult tickets, two youth tickets, a $5 concessions coupon, a parking pass and two game programs for $65.
