Jackson Qualifies For ECACs, Kendrick Sets Meet Record At James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Junior Zelma Jackson (Aurora, Colo./Randolph HS/Barton County CC) qualified for the ECAC Championship and Nicole Kendrick (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster HS) set a meet record in the discus at the James Madison Invitational on Saturday, May 11.
Jackson sped to a career-best 10:57.05 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing second and qualifying for the ECAC Championship next week. Kendrick won the discus with a throw of 167-4 1/2, besting the previous meet record of 167-4, set by Amy Brown in 1999.
Kendrick and Jackson will compete at the ECAC Championship at Princeton. The meet begins this Thursday, May 16, and continues through Sunday, May 19.
