Grimaldi Earns All-America Honors In High Jump

BATON ROUGE, La. - Freshman Jenna Grimaldi (San Mateo, Calif./St. Ignatius HS) earned All-America honors in the high jump at the 2002 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 29-June 1.
Grimaldi placed 10th overall but had the sixth-best high jump among Americans, clearing 5-8 3/4. The top eight overall finishers are named All-Americans, as are the top eight American finishers.
Grimaldi is the second All-American performer for the women's track & field squad this year. Senior Opal Jones (Capitol Heights, Md./Bishop McNamara) earned All-American honors in the 55-meter hurdles at the 2002 Indoor Track & Field Championships in March.
For Grimaldi, it was her second appearance at an NCAA Championship. She placed 16th at the indoor championship.
