McBride Helps Central New York to Silver Medal in Empire State Games

CORTLAND, N.Y. - SU junior guard Julie McBride scored 20 points in a 101-86 loss to Western New York in the gold medal game of the 2002 Empire State Games women's basketball open division competition.
McBride helped Central New York to a 2-2 record in the competition. Both of the squad's losses came to the Western team.
SU's leading scorer in 2001-02 with a 14.9 per game average, McBride averaged 17.8 points in four games for the Central squad. More than half of her 71 points came from behind the three-point line. McBride finished the tournament with 12 triples.
