Holte and Juliussen Capture Norwegian Tennis Doubles Crown

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Sophomore tennis players Kristine Bech Holte (Oslo, Norway/Fagerborg vgs.) and Trine Lise Juliussen (Rade, Norway/Treider vgs.) captured the 2002 Norwegian Women’s Doubles Championship earlier this month. The pair finished second in the event in 2001, losing in the finals 6-1, 6-1.

Holte completed her freshman season at Syracuse with a 34-28 record, including a 15-15 mark in doubles. Juliussen transferred to Syracuse over the summer and will begin competing for the Orangewomen this season.

The SU tennis team begins its fall tournament schedule Sept. 14-15 when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. for the Cornell University Tournament. The Orangewomen will test themselves against the host, the University of Massachusetts, and Colgate University.
