HARRISONBURG, VA - Junior co-captain Christen Casey (Long Beach, IN/Marquette) was named to her second all-tournament team in as many weeks at the JMU/Days Inn Classic this past weekend. Casey also received all-tournament honors at the Big Orange Tournament held in Syracuse on August 30-31.

Playing as the team’s libero, the designated backrow player, Casey posted 30 digs at the tournament, including 16 in the 3-2 win against James Madison. With her team-leading 64 digs, Casey has helped the Orangewomen to a 5-1 record, their best start since 1991’s 9-1 beginning.

Syracuse finished second at the JMU/Days Inn Classic with a 2-1 record. Maryland was named tournament champion with a 3-0 tournament record.

The Orangewomen takes a break from tournament action when it travels to Binghamton on Wednesday, Sept. 11 for a 7 p.m. match.
