
Syracuse Prepares to Host No. 13/13 Missouri

Syracuse is coming off an 82-74 win against BIG EAST foe Boston College. Three Orangemen finished that game in double figures: sophomore Hakim Warrick (24 points, 15 rebounds), freshman Carmelo Anthony (24 points, 10 rebounds), and freshman Gerry McNamara (20 points, five assists). Anthony, one of the highest-scoring freshmen in the country and the BIG EAST’s leading scorer, is averaging 24.2 points per game and 9.5 rebounds. Warrick is second on the team with averages of 16.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per outing. McNamara, who is averaging 15.2 points per game, boasts a 92.1 free-throw shooting percentage.
The Tigers (10-1) won their first Big 12 game of the season on Jan. 11, defeating Baylor, 77-69. Junior center Arthur Johnson scored a game-high and personal-best 30 points and had 15 rebounds in the win to bring his season averages to 16.8 points and 9.5 boards per game. Junior guard Rickey Paulding is averaging a team-high 18.2 points per outing, and junior guard Ricky Clemons is scoring at a 16.4 points-per-game clip. Head coach Quin Snyder, now in his fourth year in that capacity, holds a 72-39 career coaching record.
Fans can listen to the game in the Syracuse area on the SU Radio Network, 1260 AM. Voice of the Orange Mark Johnson will handle the play-by-play duties, while Matt Park will provide color commentary. The match-up will also be televised nationally on ESPN. Dan Shulman and Bill Raftery will call the game.
