McQuillin Leads Orangewomen to 3-0 Win at Siena

LOUDENVILLE, N.Y. - Freshman Erin McQuillin hit a career-high .769 on 10 kills and 13 attacks as the Orangewomen volleyball team defeated Siena in three games (30-18, 30-20, 30-17) on Wednesday. Syracuse improves to 15-9 on the season, and the Saints are now 3-15.
Junior Morgan Jones recorded a team-high 13 kills on 25 attempts, and had six digs. With 12 digs in the match, senior Christen Casey moved into fourth place on the career list. Sophomore Aila Dommestrup recorded 18 assists and classmate Kathryn Dercher finished with 22. Senior Michaela Skelly posted 10 digs, and sophomore Jessica Logan had eight kills on 18 attempts and three service aces. Sophomore Kelly Duan recorded seven kills on 14 attempts, six digs and six total blocks.
For the Saints, Christie Gustafson recorded seven kills on 23 attempts, three service aces and six digs. Diana Wirzba had seven kills on 17 attmpets and 10 digs. Abbie Maciolek finished with 21 assists.
Syracuse will enjoy an eight-day break before heading back on the road. SU will play at Manhattan on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. The Orangewomen then return to BIG EAST play at Providence on Saturday at 5:00 p.m., and at Boston College on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
