
McQuillin Named BIG EAST Co-Rookie of the Week

McQuillin recorded a career-high .769 hitting percentage on 10 kills and 13 attempts with no errors and added one block against the Saints, SU's only match of the week. She is averaging 1.94 kills and 0.46 blocks per game for the Orangewomen.
McQuillin's offensive efforts have been progressively becoming more effective. She began her hot streak against Rutgers, where the hit .545, then a career high, on 15 kills and three errors on 22 attacks. She finished the weekend by hitting .438 on nine kills and two errors on 16 attempts against Seton Hall. Over the last three matches, McQuillin has recorded a .569 hitting percentage.
McQuillin and the Orangewomen play three matches on the road this week. SU starts with a non-conference tilt at Manhattan on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Syracuse then travels to Providence on Saturday for a non-league match at 5:00 p.m., before wrapping up the weekend with a BIG EAST match against Boston College at 5:00 p.m., on Sunday.
