Orange Volleyball Loses to Manhattan in Five Games

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Syracuse volleyball team lost in five games, 30-28, 35-33, 25-30, 22-30, 15-10, to non-conference foe Manhattan on Friday in Riverdale. The Orangewomen now stand at 15-10 overall, while the Lady Jaspers are now 12-10 on the season.
Sophomore Kelly Duan led Syracuse with a double-double on 18 kills and 18 digs for a .333 hitting percentage. Classmate Kristen Conway finished with 19 kills and 13 digs for a double-double. Freshman Erin McQuillin finished her second consecutive match without recording a hitting error, compiling a .500 attack percentage on 12 kills and 24 attempts. She also had four block assists. Sophomore Aila Dommestrup recorded 43 assists, and senior Michaela Skelly had 10 digs.
Luka Van Cauteren recorded a triple-double for Manhattan with 32 kills, 36 assists and 15 digs as well as a .411 hitting percentage. Krista Thorsen posted 10 kills, four service aces, and 15 digs. Maggie Pfiefer had 15 kills with a .367 hitting percentage, and Megan O'Dorisio added 10 kills and six digs for the Lady Jaspers.
Syracuse returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25, in a non-conference match against Providence at 5:00 p.m.
