SU Student-Athletes Ringing Salvation Army Bell Today!
12/9/2003 3:09:34 PM | Men's Basketball, Football
SU student-athletes will spend the day at Carousel Mall today (December 9) ringing the Salvation Army bells and spreading holiday cheer. Orangemen and Orangewomen will ring the bells from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Last Tuesday members of SU's Athletics Department staff, including Director of Athletics Jake Crouthamel and his wife, Carol, participated in the community activity. The SUAD staff has supported the Salvation Army holiday bell-ringing initiative for the past six years.
In addition, members of SU's women's rowing team will spend the day at the gift-wrapping booth in the Kaufman’s wing of the Carousel Center Mall. Mall patrons can stop by and have their presents wrapped for a small fee that benefits the Vera House in Syracuse.
Members of the team will wrap gifts in two-hour shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Prices range from $1 for small items like fine jewelery to $8 for larger items such as televisions and stereos. Donations are also welcome.
