Coach Pu Announces Addition To Volleyball Squad

SYRACUSE, NY - Syracuse women’s volleyball coach Jing Pu announced the addition of Katie Allen to the Orangewomen squad beginning with the 2003-04 school year.
Allen is a transfer student from Ohio University. A native of Fention, MI, Allen played in 21 matches in her first collegiate season for the Bobcats. She started seven matches and set career highs in kills (14), attempts (41) and blocks (4) versus West Virginia on Oct. 16.
Allen was a third-team all-state selection as a senior at Lake Fenton High School. She was also a three-time all-region and all-league selection. A team captain her junior and senior year, Allen posted 442 kills and 187 blocks in her high school career. She also lettered in track and basketball at Lake Fenton.
Allen is enrolled in the College of Visual Performing Arts and has plans to major in fashion design.
Syracuse posted a 19-12 overall record in 2002.
