Princeton and Syracuse Alums Square off at the National Lacrosse Alumni Challenge

On September 6th, Princeton and Syracuse alumni square off at the National Lacrosse Alumni Challenge at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa. These two programs, which represent the fiercest rivalry in collegiate lacrosse, have won 10 of the last 12 NCAA championships. In this year's Featured Rivalry Game, alumni from both schools will reunite with their former teammates to settle old scores. The game will feature MLL all-stars Casey Powell, Jesse Hubbard, John Glatzel, Ryan Mollett, Tim Byrnes, and the MLL Championship Game MVP, Kevin Lowe. On the women's side, the featured rivalry game will be Maryland versus Virginia. The game pits some of the best female lacrosse players in the world against each other, including US National Team members, Cherie Greer, Bonnie Rosen, and Jessica Wilk, along with Australian National Team member and former 3-time NCAA player of the year and all-time leading scorer, Jen Adams. The game is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
These games are part of a broader two-day, round-robin tournament hosted by US Lacrosse and Alumni Sports Enterprises at the United Sports Training Center, outside of Philadelphia (www.go2ustc.com ). Other schools represented at the event include Loyola, James Madison, William & Mary, Yale, Dartmouth, UMass, Mount Saint Mary's, Hofstra, Villanova, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Army, Temple, NC State, Middlebury, Old Dominion, Ohio Wesleyan, Lynchburg, Hampden Sydney, Washington College and West Chester.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the US Lacrosse BRIDGE (Building Relationships to Initiate Diversity, Growth and Enrichment) Program. The US Lacrosse BRIDGE initiative works to introduce and expand the sport of lacrosse in nontraditional and underserved communities to embody diversity of players, coaches, officials and supporters.
In addition to the competitions, there will be a Friday night reception hosted by US Lacrosse at the Desmond Hotel (Malvern, PA), a youth lacrosse clinic sponsored by Warrior Lacrosse, and a Saturday night after-party held in West Chester, PA.
