
SU Leads Missouri, 38-32 at the Half

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The #17/19 Orangemen (11-1, 2-0) have taken a 38-32 lead at halftime versus Missouri (6-5, 1-1) at the Hearnes Center.
Junior Hakim Warrick paced the Orange in the first frame with 12 points. Junior Josh Pace and sophomore Gerry McNamara each added nine points.
McNamara scored SU’s first six points by hitting two three-pointers as the Orangemen took an early 12-8 lead. Missouri responded with an 8-0 run to take an four-point advantage of their own, 16-12 with 13:45 remaining in the first half. SU was 0-for-6 from the floor during the stretch, but a dunk by Warrick broke drought and a layup by Forth and another McNamara three had SU in front by one, 19-18 at the 11-minute mark. With Missouri leading 28-24, the Orangemen ended the half with a 14-4 scoring burst. Syracuse was 7-of-9 from the field during the stretch. Warrick and Pace did most of the damage, combining for 12 of the 14 points in the run, including six straight by Warrick.
SU shot 50 percent from the field in the first half.
Rickey Paulding paced the Tigers with seven points in the first period.
